FORTUNA SENIOR SERVICES, INC.

The Fortuna area has the highest percentage of people over fifty years in Humboldt County at about 30 percent, vs 18 percent countywide. Founded in Nov. 2003 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Fortuna Senior Services purpose is to provide programs and services to enrich, empower and involve these lives through improved access to social activities, exercise, recreation, healthcare, education, and opportunities for involvement and participation.

As a membership organization, FSS belongs to the members and relies on membership fees for support. Every person (50 and over) is welcome to participate in most FSS activities. However, membership brings ADDED BENEFITS:

• Receive the bi-monthly newsletter by mail or email
• Receive notices and calendar of events by mail or email
• Reduced admission charge at special events
• Special rates on fee-for-service classes and programs
• The right to participate in member-only events  such as the annual meeting and voting, potlucks, and mini-trips
