Friday Afternoon at the Movies
On the first Friday of each month from 4 to 6 p.m. enjoy a movie with other senior citizens. The movies will be shown at the Presbyterian Church Social Hall at 1431 Ross Hill Road. Tea, cookies (sometimes) cake and popcorn are served. Or you are welcome to bring something to share with the group. Check what the movie playing for the month is on our calendar or call 726-9203 for more information.
Beginning Line Dancing (beginning February 18,2008)
On Monday mornings at 11:00a.m Doris Cleaver will be teaching beginners. Classes will be held at the Presybterian Church Social Hall at 1431 Ross Hill Road. Call 726-9203 or contact Doris at 725-9509 for more information.
Book Club
Like to read, consider joining the Fortuna Senior Services Book Club on the first Monday of every month beginning March 3,2008. We will meet at the Methodist Church (922 N Street) in the Fireside Room. The time will be 2:00p.m. Questions please call: 726-9203.
Relaxation and Meditation- This class is designed to show beginning levels of techniques to relieve stress. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and bring a floor mat. Most of the techniques will be performed on the mat but a few could be performed by someone sitting in a chair. Relaxation techniques will include elementary massage, self and partnered, and muscle focused exercises. Class will begin- March 5 on Wednesday's from 11a.m.-12(noon) at the Fortuna Methodist Church, 922 N Street. Class size is limited to 15. Call: 726-9203 for more information.
Mah Jong and Bunco
We would like to add Mah Jong and Bunco to our game list. These are both entertaining and fun games to learn but also challenging. They are games played with dice. If you are interested in learning more about these games please call 726-9203 for more information so we can schedule a day and time suitable for players who sign up!
